形態特徵

• Medium evergreen tree, 5–18 m tall.
• Leaves simple, shining, glabrous, ovate-elliptic obovate, cordate at base, acutely acuminate, entire, 3–17.5 cm by 2.5–10 cm; petiole 1.5–5.5 cm.
• Panicles crowded at apices of twigs, pubescent, 5–8 cm; flower polygamous-monoecious; pedicels short, 2 mm; calyx campanulate-obconical, yellow-green, stellate-pubescent outside, tomentose inside, lobes about equal to the tube in length, coherent at tips; staminate flower: calyx ca. 8 mm long; gynandrophore, 2.5 mm; anthers 15, head crowded, 2 mm in diam.; perfect flower: slightly bigger but much less than male ones, distributing at top of panicle; calyx 9–10 mm long, gynandrophore short, less than 1mm, slightly pubescent at base; anthers 12–15; carpels 5, glabrous; style 1, short, hairy, free and recurved at apex; stigma clavate.
• Follicles 1–3, long stalked (3–9.5 cm), glabrous, with straight dorsal and semiorbicular ventral suture, thick-walled, dark red, 4–5 cm by 2.5–3.5 cm. Seeds ellipsoid, 2–3 cm long.

• 台灣 : In the region of this flora found only in Lanyu and Lutao.
• 世界 : Philippines.
